On the 15th of Feb, during the “speed date” session, we got chance to introduce our ideas for the final events. All the ideas from four members were matched together, we all wanted to make a fashion show experience, allows everyone have chance to feel how to be a model in a fashion show. After registered as a group of four, we started discussing deeper for the event. We created a group chat for easier communication and have a meeting every week.
The main theme is Winter, we decided to make icebergs to resemble this concept. Using cardboard boxes, PVC glue and paper, many “icebergs” were formed and came to life.
The Galvanising shop is the perfect venue for the fashion show, it has a stage at the front for the catwalk and a wide space at the back for backstage. During April everyone was busy with their deadlines and the Galv was almost fully booked, we were lucky enough to have it booked on the 7th of April. After confirm venue booking we started to floor planning right away, decided how to organize the space for the fashion show.
To advertising the event, we have made an advert to attract audience to attend. Getting the inspiration from “Winter”, we tried to symbolised our main concept
Music is an very important part of a fashion show, we have researched, looked up many fashion shows around the world to get more the idea of how to choose the music. Usually soundtracks in fashion shows should have a light up beat, either with or without words the track will act like a good background for models to perform. Here is our playlist:
When getting for the event, all four members in charged of making the set and building the stage for the show. We also prepared additional objects for the events such as clothes, accessories, etc.
For individual tasks:
To produce more effect for the experience, beside the lighting set we also set up a haze machine to create a smoky, hazy runway and resemble the "Winter theme". But first in order to be able to use the haze machine, we had the permission from uni staff - Phill, by filling the safe and healthy form.
